What exactly does checking "If this product has options, publish Feed using Variants" do?

I have done that and don't see any difference in the feed.

Thanks,

Scott K

That is the first criteria in the decision to publish variants as a separate line in the Google Feed. Once that has been checked in the feed code, the code looks for options with names like color, size, material, pattern. If any of those options are found, then the code goes on to output the option. If your options have different names, the code won't create line items for options unless you customize the code.

I was testing this last week, and it was difficult to get the Feed results. As Judy mentions, you do have to have the correct option names, and I believe you also need to have variant images for each of them. I could be wrong, but that is what finally gave me the correct output in the feed file.
Thanks for your support!
